Fresh from a spin at the Edinburgh Fringe, new House of Blakewell comedy musical Thor + Loki has been picking up positive feedback for its oddball mash-up of Norse mythology and Marvel comic book stories. In a fable about fate and (unlikely) friendship, Thor and Loki are both destined to save the world from destruction – but each is from the other side when it comes to two scrapping factions. The Gods are banking on the mighty Thor to win the war against the Giants but, less than handy with his hammer, Thor prefers poetry. Chalked up to destroy the Nine Worlds, and supposedly out for revenge, hideous half-Giant Loki, meanwhile, wouldn’t and couldn’t hurt a fly. Despite this, expect epic battle scenes, some ballad-tastic singing and, apparently, a chorus of tap-dancing trolls in this big-hearted comedy musical about pals, heroes and making a stand for what you really believe in.
