Try somewhere new this NYE: Dinner at Dishoom, The Ivy or Lunya

If you prefer a more substantial New Year’s Eve then might we suggest some of Manchester’s fine eateries who are offering something different to ring in 2019.

Bombay glamour at Dishoom
Already a big hit, despite only opening last month, Dishoom at the grand Manchester Hall offers their own take on New Year’s Eve with two brand new menus for veggies and non-veggies alike. Dishes such as Navrattan jackfruit Biryani and Murgh Pista Korma and the house black daal make this a must for those yet to try the Indian treats and Dishoom will be serving up some Bombay Vintage Glam during the celebrations and even a chance to win Prosecco or a round of drinks for your table on arrival. For those that just wish to see in the New Year with drinks can join the Permit Room bar at 10pm for just £7, but if you’re planning on eating then we highly recommend booking in advance.

High end entertainment and dining at The Ivy
New kid on the Spinningfields block The Ivy will host its first New Year’s Eve celebrations in Manchester, promising to be a memorable night complete with crafted cocktails, high-octane acts, special guests and show-stopping performances. Choose between an early dinner or ticketed events from 9pm in Ivy Asia or The Ivy Roof Garden. There’s a bespoke four course meal including crispy duck salad, Wagyu beef with truffle sauce, and black cod with miso, in the restaurant main and bringing the outside in, The Ivy Roof Garden will set the scene for an electric evening full of entertainment, flowing cocktails and iconic Ivy dishes. The Ivy looks set to be the hottest spot in town for 2019 so might as well start the year there.

Tapas at Lunya
If you’re in the mood for something a little more European why not celebrate “Noche Vieja” the Catalan and Spanish way with a tapas journey through the region at Lunya on Deansgate. Luxurious platters from the deli counter of Spain’s best cheeses,
Ibérico meats, olives, nibbles and dips are followed by a series of tapas tasters including deep fried Monte Enebro goat’s cheese and orange blossom honey + a selection of their wonderful desserts. Last table bookings are at 9.45pm and the restaurant will close at 11pm so you can still ring in the New Year elsewhere, or at home after a good feed.
