Money is always a little tighter at this time of year so it’s great to see Chorlton’s favourite hideaway Dulcimer offering some great free entertainment for your cold January evenings. Here’s a few of our favourite free events this week…
Refried Beats | Wed 16 Jan | 10pm | FREE
Refried Beats bring their monthly sonic cocktail of South-American and African music to Dulcimer, blending afro-cuban styles and contemporary grooves to perk up your week with an informal get-together.
Open Mic Night | Thu 17 Jan | 8pm | FREE
South Island Son’s Jonny Woodhead hosts Dulcimer’s open mic night. Get down to grab a spot on the bill or just watch the next generation of Manchester’s music scene hone their skills.
Combover DJs | Fri 18 Jan | 9pm | FREE
DJ Guy ‘Tightass’ Connor digs deep for a stellar collection of rock, blues, soul and funk to take through Friday night.
The Devil’s Jukebox | Sat 19 Jan | 9pm | FREE
Fritz Great Lakes and Chris Maude take care of Saturday night, cracking open their crate of “funky folk flavours and dreamy West Coast psychedelics” for an evening of warm-hearted tunes.
Jo Rose | Sun 20 Jan | 9pm | FREE
Now a favourite at the venue, we look forward to another visit from Anglo-American singer-songwriter Jo Rose for a chilled, intimate evening session to help bring the week to a close.
