K Craig at Holden Gallery
This Tuesday, Manchester Metropolitan University’s Holden Gallery continues its Interruptions series – where artists are invited to occupy the gallery space for a one-off session – with a visit from A/V artist K Craig. A Manchester School of Art graduate himself, K Craig works with experimental film and animation, often utilising multiple projectors in his performances and installations. His latest work From The World Without Us will be the centrepiece of this evening residency and features of live soundtrack. The Holden Gallery will be hosting similar Interruptions events throughout the year.

HerArchivist at The Pankhurst Centre
HerArchivist is the nom de blog of feminist and archivist Heather Emily Roberts, who’ll be coming to the Pankhurst Centre this Tuesday evening for a session on cataloguing, as part of the ongoing Vote100 celebrations, marking a century since the first time women were allowed to vote. In this practical workshop, you’ll learn about the significance of cataloguing womens’ movements and the important role that museum collections play in preserving Britain’s radical heritage.

Performance Exhibition at St. James’s House (pictured)
Photography charity The Photographic Angle are currently touring this exhibition, which comes to Manchester for a few days towards the end of this week. St. James’s House, near Chinatown, will host this temporary collection built around the theme of performance. Built up over the past several years, this touring exhibition features candid snaps from over a dozen contributors, covering every aspect of performance, from big, public carnivals to smaller, more intimate portraits. You’ve only got until Sunday to catch it, so get in while you can.

Fat Free at Band on the Wall
On Thursday, DJs and party organisers Fat Free take over Band on the Wall’s regular slot for up-and-coming artists, presenting a packed roster full of the artists that are exciting them in 2019. First up is London-based group Fofoulah, who mix electronica and dub with traditional Senegalese instruments and beats. Also on the bill is local post-punk electronica duo Trianglecuts, psych group Errant Monks, sufi singer Sarah Yaseen and spoken word improv outfit Locean. Booking ahead is essential to guarantee free entry.
