Manchester-based artist, Jennie Franklin, presents her works at Bury Art Museum in her first solo show in this Easter. Entitled Well Done Good Draw, the show includes  works on paper, some of which have never been publicly shown. Jennie takes inspiration from found imagery, picking and choosing from various sources, which she then interprets in her own style. Punctuating her works are characters from children’s stories, such as cartoon bears and Pingu, which she takes through visual narratives. The exhibition is supported by Venture Arts, a charity which works with learning disabled artists to create and show new visual works. Jennie has autism which possibly contributes to her unique visual style; events and feelings that occur during her drawing process permeate the pieces and she often feels compelled to finish her drawings in one sitting.
