Free live literature night Bad Language comes to Gullivers this Wednesday night, with a special guest appearance from fantasy poet Maz Hedgehog. Hedgehog will be performing in support of her new book Vivat Regina, which deftly mixes English folklore and fairy tales with a black, queer female perspective. Whilst the night is technically free to attend, donations are requested to help keep the night  running.

Quatuour Danel and David Fanning at University of Manchester
The University of Manchester’s Martin Harris Centre presents this free lunchtime concert on Thursday. French string quartet Quatuor Danel will be performing a new composition by Manchester University professor Camden Reeves, with piano accompaniment from fellow professor David Fanning.

South Asia Collective After Hours at Manchester Museum
Part of the Manchester Museum’s series of After Hours events, this Thursday the South Asia gallery will be staying open a little longer for an evening of art, music and discussion. The South Asia gallery was created a few years ago from a 5 million pound government grant, giving a permanent home to Manchester University’s fantastic collection of artefacts from the sub-continent. There’s no need to book in advance for this event, just drop in as you please.
