Band On The Wall have found plenty of fans with their free music showcases, now expanding to cover the best boundary-breaking experimental jazz from emerging artists. Returning on 7 May, Free Jazz aims to bring a host of local and national talent to your attention, with artists spanning jazz, electronic, hip-hop, funk, soul, and everything in-between. Attendees can look forward to a sonic cocktail of hip hop, metal and jazz fusion from Leeds-based outfit Slow Loris, who found fans with a stellar performance at last year’s Manchester Jazz Festival, along with a dose of ‘Frog Rock’ from six-piece band Shaku. Also on the bill, expect a blend of jazz fusion and art rock from the budding Captain Nemo and the soulful, funkadelic sounds of Mamilah. Don’t miss this evening of talented musicianship, free of charge!
Tues 7 May, Band on the Wall, 25 Swan Street, M4 5JZ Manchester, 7.30pm, FREE www.facebook.com
