Benjamin Zephaniah hits the road with his Revolutionary Minds Band on a UK tour this summer, visiting Gorilla on 28 May. The critically acclaimed musician, writer and poet will travel the country with his dub-reggae band in tow, also performing at Wilkswood Festival and One Love Festival. Noted by The Times as one of Britain’s best post-war writers, Zephaniah’s dub poetry has been dissecting societal and political issues over four decades, releasing a series of albums in the process beginning with debut LP Rasta in 1982. He has recently appeared as Jeremiah Jesus in hit show Peaky Blinders, and detailed his life in 2018 autobiography ‘Life & Rhymes’. Zephaniah’s appearance will showcase his engaging talent as the frontman of The Revolutionary Minds, created with Tru-Thoughts artist and producer Corin Pennington, famous for his work with legendary reggae acts such as Toots & The Maytals, Rodney P, Third World, The Wailers and more. Support comes from local spoken word performance artists Young Identity.
