A comedian’s job is to find the funny in just about anything and in Amy Vreeke’s look at the time when she nearly died due to endrometriosis in 2016, she really does delve deep for those LOLs. Vreeke’s honesty and of course hindsight makes the deathly mirthful and in exploring the taboos that surround women’s health she gives a great insight into a life with a chronic yet unseen illness.
Graphic artists from the UK and Finland combine to tell the story of four women facing particular challenges to their health and wellbeing in the city. But this exhibition of storytelling won’t be taking place in a gallery or art space. Instead ‘Graphic Encounters’ will be told at poster sites across various Metrolink stations in Greater Manchester.
