Projekts Skatepark in Manchester will host a graffiti jam on Fri 27 Sep, raising money for the homeless as well as celebrating the career of Goldie, UK dance and graffiti legend, and 25 years of Metalheadz, his drum and bass record label. The event will involve a live graffiti workshop and auction, featuring a number of renowned graffiti artists including AKSE, KREK and DIRTY FACES. There will also be a piece by AKSE up for auction on the day, and a live DJ set from Noel Edge (of Taste the Diff’rence). The event will be co-hosted by the Marcus Intalex Music Foundation (MIMF), a platform for nurturing talent in music development, and Sweet Nothing, a faceless movement that uses social events with music, art and food to raise money for the homeless. The event also partners with Design Manchester, an annual citywide festival celebrating collaboration and inclusivity in design, and graphic and paste-up artist Swifty will be in attendance to promote DM19, which takes place this November. The graffiti jam takes place from 5pm till 11pm and runs on a pay-as-you-feel basis. All proceeds will be split between MIMF and Mustard Tree, a charity for the homeless.
