Gothic Festival Manchester returns for a seventh year, with this year’s focus on ‘Gothic Times’. The festival will span the whole of October, with a stellar showcase of alt-events all across the city, that explore and interrogate the realms of ‘the Gothic’ and horror – prepare to be spooked!
Calling all zombie lovers: imagine a world run by zombies! What if a virus really did create a horde of the undead? Bad Bugs: Zombie Outbreak is a game of survival, as you participate in a zombie game testing those ever-crucial skills. In the workshop you will also come together to examine popular zombie stories, including Darren Shan’s Zom-B series and Charlie Higson’s The Enemy, with scientific models. The workshop will be led by Man Met Academics and is suitable for children aged 11 and over.
The sun sets, the sky darkens and all creatures of the night come out to play and dance – this one’s for adults only! For just one night, Salford’s Sacred Trinity Church turns into a Gothic dancefloor, destined for creatures of the night – expect a selection of alt and Gothic tunes. Not much else has been revealed, but it’s BYOB and £5 OTD. They do say many a spooky thing occurs in the witching hour!
