Manchester’s resident independent retail space, Hatch, are hosting a special winter festival this Christmas, with food, drink and retail offerings from some of the most unique and diverse local businesses Manchester has to offer. In addition to hosting some must-see events, there are plenty of food and drink stalls and spaces so there’s definitely something to please everyone – we’ve picked out five of the best for you to check out this December.

Mezze

This Turkish/Cypriot bar, run by a father-daughter team, have moved to a bigger venue this Christmas in order to serve up even more of their delectable combinations. Try the warming Mediterranean stew box to keep you cosy on a cold winters’ night – and there’s even a special ‘doggy dishes’ menu, if you’ve got your four-legged friend along with you!

Fuku

For a taste of the unexpected, visit Fuku and try their unmissable Asian street food. They’re serving up classics such as Katsu Chicken burgers and curry alongside salt and pepper chicken and loaded fries – they even have a ready supply of Asahi beer on hand to help you wash it all down.

Panquake

Panquake is brand new to Hatch, and can be found in the courtyard if you’re after something sweet – just look for the bright red vintage Citroen van. They’ve got a variety of sweet and savory crepes and waffles on the menu, perfect to snack on while wandering round Hatch’s unique stalls and retailers.

Herbivorous

Serving vegan street food from an ever-changing menu, this plant-based eatery is perfect for the more ethically and environmentally conscious Christmas shopper. Their loaded dinosaur chips, with pulled BBQ jackfruit and coleslaw, are perfect for sharing.

Vin-Yard

Hatch’s resident wine bar are offering plenty of mulled wine this season, not only the traditional red but also a unique white mulled wine. If you’re more of a beer drinker, Nordic brewery and keg bar Öl are serving up their own beers alongside a collection of world casks from some of the best breweries around. There are plenty of cocktails to try too – stop by Number 8 to taste some of the best mixes made with locally produced spirits and fresh botanicals.
