Mark your diaries: Disney’s The Lion King is coming to The Palace Theatre

This is an early heads-up to make sure you don’t miss the stage version of The Lion King, which is returning to Manchester in October 2020. Tickets aren’t even on sale yet – but if you sign up for alerts via the link below, you’ll be at the front of the queue when they become available. It’s highly recommended, because the first time the show came our way, it broke box office records – selling 50,000 tickets in a day and going on to play sold out performances for over five months. Adapted from the animated Disney classic, a cast of more than 50 actors, singers and dancers tell the story of Simba and his cohorts using an innovative blend of masks, puppets and costumes. It features all the classic songs from the film, including Can You Feel the Love Tonight and three new numbers by Elton John and original film maestro Tim Rice. The unforgettable score, by Soweto-born composer Lebo M, is a blend of African rhythms and chorales.
