Valentine’s Day 2020 is fast approaching, love is in the air and Manchester will be lighting up to celebrate the romantic occasion in style. From Wednesday 12 to Saturday 16 February, a giant red love heart by French artist Franck Pelletier entitled With Love will illuminate Hardman Square. The installation measures people’s heart rate and plays music accordingly to set a suitably romantic mood. Also from Monday 10 February, on the Quay Street façade of No.1 Spinningfields, there will be another large-scale light installation to celebrate Valentine’s Day – a visible declaration of love to the people of Manchester entitled Heart of Manchester. Neon-light tubes will make up a large heart, which can be set to create a ‘pulsing effect’, sure to brighten up the city skyline and get everyone in the mood for romance. Alongside the light installations, the Spinningfields’ team are also hosting a Valentine’s competition giving one lucky pair the chance to win dinner for two at 20 Stories, alongside a beautiful bouquet of flowers from David Wayman Flowers, a £50 Spinningfields gift card and a box of treats from Hey Little Cupcake! To be in with a chance of winning this bumper package, simply hit ‘like’ on Spinningfields competition post and follow Spinningfields, 20 Stories, David Wayman Flowers and Hey Little Cupcake! on Instagram. Good luck!
