An anti-Valentine’s Day Shindigger tap takeover at Sandinista and a Potato Day at Hulme Community Garden Centre are among the best free things to do in Manchester this weekend.
Shindigger Brewing will be taking over all the taps at Sandinsta’s this Valentine’s Day. If you’re looking to avoid more traditional romantic activities, this is the place to be – there will be a Meal for One offer, beer giveaways, and DJ sets from both Sandinista’s residents and some of the guys from Shindigger.
This informal monthly hike is run by Nature Mates, bringing like minded people together to connect with nature in an accessible way. This month, they’ll be walking between 6-10 miles in and around Lyme Park. You’re welcome to come on your own, with a few friends or even with your dog and they usually stop at a pub or a cafe at the end for those that fancy a drink or a bite to eat.
This annual event at Hulme Community Garden Centre celebrates all things potato, with expert advice from Bill Whitehead, a selection of hot food and drink and loads of activities and crafts for kids. There will also be a wide variety of seed potatoes, so it’s a great chance to get started growing your own potatoes.
