An introduction to acupuncture and meditation and a double feature of acclaimed director Bong Joon-ho’s earlier films are among the best free things to do in Manchester this weekend.
This event at Oldham Library is run by the Lifelong Learning Centre and offers the chance to watch demonstrations in a wide variety of crafts in the morning and then take part in one in the afternoon. Workshops on offer include aromatherapy, sewing and flower arranging.
This session, run by and for LGBT+ women, will give you the chance to experience acupuncture, as well as being guided through meditation. It’s the perfect way to relax and unwind on a Sunday afternoon in an open, inclusive and welcoming environment.
To celebrate Bong Joon-ho’s twentieth year of directing – and his latest film Parasite winning Best Picture at the Oscars this year – Above The Line are hosting a screening of two of his earlier films. Snowpiercer (2013) and The Host (2006) are both classic genre-bending masterpieces from the Korean director, speaking to class disparity through various innovative mediums and plots.
