Want to get your live music fix without leaving the comfort of your home? We’ve gathered together a list of the best live streamed gigs to enjoy solo this week.
The masked country musician Orville Peck brings us an early morning livestream session before the release of his new song Summertime which drops Wednesday April 1. Promising brand new songs, covers, some special guests and chats about the new record – you can catch this live from over the pond on his instagram page @orvillepeck. Manchester’s iconic music production school, Spirit Studios, marks its 40th anniversary with a special mass live stream Open Day on Thursday April 2. The event, beginning at 7pm, will feature musicians at home inspiring people how to create music using every day objects found in your household. This aims to encourage budding musicians and people across the city to get creative. This is only the first of many events to mark their special year. You can catch this live stream over on their Instagram page @wearespiritstudios.
Every night at 9pm, Jimmy’s hosts their Isolation Gigs over on Instagram – with various artists playing a special home live stream. On Friday, Faith from Manchester’s PINS band brings us a solo session featuring tracks old and new, including forthcoming album Hot Slick (out May 29). Make sure to keep an eye on Jimmy’s Instagram page @Jimmys as they list forthcoming acts.
The Femme Collective, a multi-platform project dedicated to increasing gender equality in the music industry presents Femme Fest. On Saturday 4 April from 3-6pm you can catch a fab line up of acts ‘live from lockdown’. There will be solo sets from Porridge Radio, Katy J Pearson and Lime and also performances from Lynks Afrikka and Avice Caro. Head over to their instagram page at @femmecolllective to catch this one. Radio 1 DJ Jack Saunders brings us Quarantine Karaoke live from his living room. On Sunday evenings at 7pm, head over to Jack’s instagram page @jackxsaunders to catch him and some very special guests via video for silly sing-a-longs.
