Edith Bowman will be joined by a variety of Scottish talent in this midweek livestream. The evening will include music, literature, poetry and chats – raising money for the charity initiative Masks for Scotland as it aims to provide crucial PPE for frontline workers. Some of the famous faces you can expect include James McAvoy, KT Tunstall, Lauren Mayberry (CHVRCHES), Ncuti Gatwa, Peter Capaldi, Sam McTrusty (Twin Atlantic) and loads more. Manchester venue Band On The Wall may have closed its doors for the moment but they’ve been digging deep into their archives to pick out some of their favourite live recordings from gigs gone by. Every Friday evening at 7pm, there will be a full gig broadcast ‘as live’ for you to watch along to. This week, audiences will be treated to a pre-recorded vibe-heavy performance from afrobeat legend Femi Kuti and the Positive Force, captured during an African music festival curated by the venue back in 2012. If you happen to miss this, there’s another chance to view the gig in the midweek repeats which air every following Wednesday afternoon at 2pm – the latest to catch is a set from Brazilian musician Marcos Valle. Manchester’s Liquid Beach have been bringing their sun-soaked grooves to your homes for the last few Friday’s and this week is no different. From around 7pm, you can catch Alex and Lewis live from the beach garden via the band’s Facebook page and boogie away your isolation blues.
Clint Boon is back with the return of Disco Rescue. After launching his weekly residency at South Nightclub, Manchester nineteen years ago – Clint keeps the party going despite the current closure of the club.
