The pubs and restaurants might be officially open, but everything still looks very different to normal – some people can’t wait to get back to their favourite venues, while others are (understandably) reluctant to venture out. We’ve rounded up the best free things to do in Manchester this week, featuring things to do both at home and from home – read on to find out our top picks.
Graham, the Creative Programmes Manager of Ancoats-based community centre Mustard Tree, will be hosting an abstract art paint-a-long, sharing helpful tips and techniques over Facebook Live. You can ask questions in the live chat, and send your creations over when you’re finished – if you love the chance to get creative, this is the perfect event for you.
We’re all used to Zoom pub quizzes and seminars but how about a Zoom coffee morning? Partisan Collective are hosting just that, bringing people together to wake up and face the day with some easy socialising. It’s a pretty unique way to start the day – definitely worth tuning in while you’re waking up with a cuppa.
Gutted that the Pet Shop Boys tour has been cancelled this year? It’s not quite the same but Eletropop Curious? are hosting a virtual quiz entirely about the Pet Shop Boys, featuring their music throughout. Right after the quiz, a Pet Shop Boys disco will happen online – if you’re missing out on seeing them this year, or just a big fan, make sure you don’t miss this one!
The Redbank Project’s Plant Powered Sundays – Europe’s first weekly vegan street food event – is making a post-lockdown return this Sunday. Things will look a little different than before – you need to book a table in advance – but there’ll be loads of great vegan street food on offer, along with local beers, ciders, wines and soft drinks.
