Manchester band The Covasettes, release their new track Be Mine this Friday 24 July. The indie four-piece comprised of frontman Chris Buxton, guitarist Matt Hewlett, Jamie McIntyre on bass and drummer Matt Buckley were formed in the student town of Fallowfield while attending different uni’s across the city.

After bursting onto the scene in 2017 with their debut tune This Feeling, the band managed to grab people’s attention with the track’s fiery riffs and gripping vocals. The following year saw a further three singles Wondering Why, Top Drawer and Wild released – and in 2019 yet more material, including single Like You and their first 4-track EP It’s Always Sunny Above The Clouds.

Despite the COVID-19 chaos of 2020, earlier this year the lads brought us knock-out track Spin in March – whilst also being named on the Glastonbury Emerging Talent long-list. With their prolific releases over just a couple of years – it’s no surprise that The Covasettes have over 1 million streams on Spotify, have garnered a load of radio play – plus earned spots in a variety of top Spotify playlists including the Indie List.

New single Be Mine stays true to the upbeat dancability of the band’s previous releases. The lyrics talk of wanting to charm the object of your affection. That longing to win someone over and make them the centre of your universe. And listening gave us butterflies. The lads were due to hit the road next month however like many events, this has had to be rescheduled. February 2021, The Covasettes will play a seven-date headline tour with their Manchester date due to be held at The Deaf Institute on Friday 12 February. Tickets are £8 and those for the original dates remain valid. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on the band’s socials for any further announcements including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Spotify and Youtube. Alternatively, visit their website for more info.
