Eat Well MCR – a team dedicated to providing meals to Manchester residents who are experiencing hard times – has launched a new online marketplace offering a deliverable boxes, each packed with a carefully curated selection of the best food and drink from across the North West. This new service – which officially launched on Friday 2 October – allows shoppers to experience the best local and organic produce with all proceeds going to a worthy cause, allowing their team to continue supporting the community.
Boxes will include produce like eggs, fish, meat and dairy alongside fresh organic vegetables, meal kits and chilled meals from a rotating selection of the city’s finest chefs and restaurants. Didsbury bistro Hispi, Freight Island grill Baraxturi and Ancoats’ bakery Pollen are among the list of hospitality vendors donating meal kits to the scheme, alongside Konoba, Pippi Eats and Gooey co who will provide pantry items like pasta, chilli oils and sweet treats respectively.
All meat boxes will feature produce sourced from local farms, while vegetable boxes will include items picked within a 2.5 mile radius of Manchester. A selection of regionally crafted beers from Cloudwater will also be on offer, as well as a range of natural and low intervention wines. Each purchase you make from the Eat Well MCR Marketplace will ensure their team can continue supporting the local community by dishing out meals created by the expert chefs featured in their collective.
