Local women’s charity Emmeline’s Pantry has officially launched its Christmas 2020 appeal, calling on Manchester residents to donate key items like toys, food, treats, gift boxes for women and teenagers, pyjamas and more to ensure a brighter festive season for vulnerable women in the North West. For the past eight years, Emmeline’s Pantry – primarily a women’s run food bank and pantry for women and babies – has provided critical support to women of all ages who have survived dire circumstances like domestic abuse, domestic violence, rape, modern day slavery, trafficking, mental health issues, disability, homelessness and poverty. Following a particularly difficult year, they’re calling on Manchester residents to offer donations and help ensure Christmas still happens for local women in need – and their families.

Each woman who uses the Emmeline’s Pantry services receives a Christmas dinner for themselves and their family – including their choice of starters, mains and desserts, alongside a week’s supply of food for their entire household – a brand new pair of pyjamas and a gift set. This year, they’re calling on donations of key items like food and gifts – with the official cut off date for donations due to arrive on Friday 11 December. To find out how you can send them some supplies, visit the Emmeline’s Pantry website or gift something via the charity’s Amazon wish-list.
