Manchester International Festival continue their free online programming this week with the latest instalment of the Festival In My House..And Yours series. This Thursday 25 March, tune in over on the MIF Youtube channel from 7pm to watch Arty Farty. John Wilkinson and Chloe Barlow of North Manchester theatre company Malandra Jacks explore what its like to be young and working class today – whilst celebrating and parodying all things arty.
This coming Saturday will mark the two year anniversary of the passing of Liverpool-based band Her’s. To celebrate Ste and Audun’s life and legacy, their record label Heist or Hit have a very special stream in store. On Saturday 27 March from 9pm – we’re all invited to An Evening With Her’s. Musicians from Manchester and Liverpool come together this weekend for live-streamed micro festival The North Will Rise Again. Taking place over two evenings from 7:30pm – Saturday 27 March will be coming from Liverpool’s Invisible Wind Factory where Lightning Seeds, Red Rum Club and Zuzu will be performing sets. Sunday 28 will be hosted by much-loved Manchester venue Gorilla as The Charlatans, Ist Ist and Liines take the stage. Virtual tickets start from £10 per evening and proceeds will be going towards the charities Liverpool Music House and The Music Venue’s Trust #SaveOurVenues campaign – whilst also providing work for independent venues, production staff and film crews in both cities. This Sunday 28 March features a line-up of some great local talent including Dalmas, Suave Martyrs, Lanterns and The Notion. Paul Langley will be performing a special a DJ set plus there will be introductions by none other than Clint Boon. Multi-instrumental folk trio McGoldrick, McCusker and Doyle perform a special recorded set from Bury’s The Met this Wednesday 24 March.
