Northern independent record label NO SUCH THING present their first live showcase on Friday 18 June. As part of Berlin-based youth art festival 48 Hours Neukölln – artists Left Winter and Ruby Tingle will be exhibiting new video works as part of an online programme.
Performing via Youtube on the evening – electronic music producer, Left Winter, presents an exploration of ‘Berlin’ in audio and visual recording. With atmospheric and melodic compositions accompanied by his own photographic work – this is an ode to Germany’s capital city.
Meanwhile, progressive electronica artist, Ruby Tingle, brings us ‘Floronic’ – a study of her own fascination with plants, glasshouses and everything botanic. Using electronic arrangements along with self-portraiture, Ruby takes inspiration from Berlin’s Royal Botanical Gardens to create a haunting and visually immersive soundscape.
Founded by Tingle and electronic musician, Dirty Freud, NO SUCH THING launched in February as an independent record label dedicated to giving a voice to under-represented voices in the region. They’ve since gone on to release music from a variety of new creators, including Szou, Off Noise, Kaspa and more.
Streaming for audiences in the UK and Berlin – you can find out more about this showcase of Northern artists at the 48 Hours Neukölln website or tune in via Youtube from 8pm (BST) here.
