From Monday 21 June, the iconic Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester will launch its summer programme, offering a plethora of unique cultural experiences to make your city staycation one to remember.
Continuing their artist-in-residence programme, the hotel has partnered with British Culture Archive to showcase a new photographic exhibition ‘A Woman’s Work’. Available for guests at the hotel and its bar and restaurant from Thursday 29 July, The Refuge, this immersive exhibition celebrates acclaimed Northern female photographers, including Shirley Baker, Tish Murtha, Heidi Alexander and Anne Worthington.
According to the hotel’s General Manager, Johan Scheepers, the exhibition aims to “bring in the cultural happenings past and present from the city through our hotel and showcase photographs that make the heart sing with heartfelt human connection”.
Throughout July, the hotel will also offer exclusive weekend performances from The Blues Kitchen Manchester’s resident musicians who will be playing jazz, soul and blues music. Furthermore, the famous Kimpton social hour will feature a brand-new ‘honesty bar’ inviting hotel guests to write what they consume onto their own bills and weekly wine tasting events hosted by local wine partners.
Though vacations may seem a distant memory, Kimpton-bikes will provide the perfect method to explore your city staycation, alongside a brand-new initiative to reward sharing the love. Members of the public can now pick up free postcards to share heartfelt messages with loved ones, who will then be able to redeem a free room upgrade when booking any Kimpton UK hotel simply by showing their postcard.
