The team behind the beloved Stretfood Foodhall and Ancoats’ General Store have announced plans to open two new independent food venues – one in Sale and one in Northwich – later this year.

The foodhall concept has already proved massively popular across Manchester, with plenty of local independent food vendors taking advantage of the space. Recent stars of Stretfood Foodhall include brunch joint Koffee Pot, plant-based eatery Herbivorous, and ice cream favourites, Ginger’s Comfort Emporium.

The first new venue will be located by the Stanley Square Shopping Mall in Sale. The venue will encapsulate the unit they already own – currently known as Groceries and Beer – to create a huge 5,500 square foot site, offering the ultimate food, drink and retail experience – with an outdoor terrace too.

Northwich Foodhall will follow shortly after in the Autumn and will be even bigger than the last, taking over the venue previously known as Baron’s Quay Social. We’re talking a two-storey, 9,000 square foot venue with a rooftop terrace, slap-bang in the middle of the town centre.

Both new venues will boast the same style and vibes as their predecessors but with even more space for local independents to showcase their stock, as well as opportunities for pop-up events and classes. More importantly, each Foodhall will have its very own grocery store, serving up fresh baked goods and access to zero-waste refill stations.
