Oldham four-piece The Recreation are the latest band to go live for Scruff Of The Neck TV this Monday 12 July. From 7:30pm, tune in over on Twitch for music and chats with the lads, all presented by Jack Wood from the Manchester city centre studio.
NQ Jazz continue their series of intimate gigs at The Yard this week with guitarist and composer Chris Montague. ‘Warmer Than Blood’ is the artist’s new venture accompanied by Kit Downes on piano and Ruth Goller on bass. Taking place this Monday 12 July form 7:30pm, tickets are priced at £8.50 full price and £5.50 for students. Can’t make it out tonight? Fear not. Head to Northern Quarter venue Aatma this Saturday 17 July from 7pm to catch Manchester-based band Surfing Pointers take the stage. Also on the bill are Second Shepherds. And the best part? Tickets are only £4.50. Be sure to grab one before they go.
We Are Manchester have kept us entertained these past months with their weekly livestreams showcasing musicians from home and away. This Sunday 18 July will be the 50th and last (at least, for now) stream and there’s plenty of talent on the bill. From 4pm you’ll find performances from Narrow Margin, Five Days North, The Lilacs, Feather Trade, Big Society and Man & Boy – with introductions by Clint Boon. University of Salford takeover the Bruntwood Stage at Homeground this week with ‘Live At Last’ – five evenings of music, comedy and spoken word by the award-winning graduates from The School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology. From Monday 12 until Friday 16, head down to the free outdoor venue to catch performances from Louis Barnes and the Overthinkers, White Noise, Velvet Shakes and more. Taking place 5:30pm until 7:30pm Monday to Wednesday and 5pm until 7pm Thursday/Friday – you won’t need a ticket, but you can book a table for the Bruntwood Stage to guarantee your spot.
