We’re very lucky to have the talent that we do in Manchester; it’s one of the things that sets us apart from anywhere else in Britain. Our city is quite literally full to the brim of skilled artists, crafters, bakers and chefs, all waiting patiently to showcase their genius. The only thing better would be to have them all in the same place! Oh wait – we do have that…
Manchester markets are some of the most culture-drenched events in our calendar, but many of them seem to slip off people’s radar. So rather than missing the finest collection of handmade homewares, artisan accessories, prints of perfection and some darn tasty scran, we’ve put together a guide of every single one happening this month – in chronological order. Diaries at the ready!
Another firm fave of ours – the Manchester Craft and Flea Market never disappoints. A travelling haven of homeware, accessories, pottery and prints, the Craft and Flea returns from 10am until 4pm, and with some exciting new offerings too.
Whether you’re looking for gifts, or just fancy a stroll, here you can find teapot terrariums, knitted cacti, girl power prints and handmade jewellery – plus lots more.
With tickets priced at just £2.50, this event is the ultimate day out. Tickets can be bought via the link below and allocate you a specific time slot to help with social distancing (which you can choose, don’t worry) so make sure to be on time.

Taking place in Market Square, Ashton’s Artisan Market is a dog-friendly festival of all things handmade. From booze to burgers, to notebooks to oven gloves; there’s something for everyone here – even the kids.
From 10 ‘til 4, locals can find a wonderous collection of local produce and crafts, making this the perfect Saturday event for the fam. More information can be found via the link below.
Taking place at St Hilda’s Church in Prestwich, Croft Makers Market returns for Summer 2021. Their first public event since the national lockdown, the market will transform St Hilda’s into a hub of fantastic local sellers, hand-crafted goods, and even better food, open from 10.30am. More information can be found via the link below.
The perfect opportunity to stock up on winter layers – Worth The Weight Vintage Kilo Sale returns to Manchester Cathedral at the end of this month. Whether you’re looking to pile up on winter woollies, or just after some sustainably sourced clothing, kilo sales are the perfect event for getting a bargain.
Priced at just £15 per kilo, you can find timeless classics and 90s sportwear in pristine condition, at the fraction of the price. All you have to do is fill up your (recycled) plastic bag and weigh it at the end.
Again, to help with social distancing, the event is ticketed and staggered, so be sure to choose your slot here.

Ancoats has certainly proven to be quite the creative space as of late, with floods of independent businesses rushing for a spot in the up and coming suburb. Now, they’re going one step further and hosting their very own pop-up Summer Market.
Showcasing talent from all around the region, the pop-up will serve as a temporary home for all sorts of arts and crafts stalls, including Alex Berry Illustration, Cake Loves Cakes, and Studio Dawn.
Open both Saturday and Sunday from 11am until 4pm, the market can be found on Radium Street. Let’s hope there’s a bit of sunshine for this one, eh?
