Having been postponed since March 2020, art event specialists Cotton On Manchester are finally able to throw the party they deserve, announcing that their ‘Art All-Dayer’ will take place on Saturday 14 August.
Taking over Ancoats’ Halle St Peters from 11am until 6pm, Cotton On are pulling together creatives from all over Greater Manchester to present an all-day art fair that puts local talent in the spotlight. The fair will feature over 60 stalls of affordable prints, paintings, pottery, photography, jewellery and homeware, and anything else that could possibly spring to mind.
On top of this, there will also be a pop-up exhibition, and two workshop opportunities (which are really rather reasonably priced). The exhibition comes from hyperrealist Carlos Ferg, who won ‘best piece’ at Cotton On’s recent ‘In Manchester’ exhibition, earning himself a solo spot at their biggest event yet. His newest work delves into figurative representations in art, exploring the issues of gender equality within contemporary society.

The workshops are equally impressive. Starting from just £10 per person, there are two courses to choose from: a detailed lesson in the techniques of acrylic painting, or a 45-min lesson on marbling effects, where guests can take home their own hand-marbled sketchbook. Both workshops are to be led by Fine Art graduate Louise Garman, who has previously taught at various Manchester institutions, including Bury College, Bolton Art Gallery and Manchester Adult Education Centre.
Putting the art in party, Cotton On will also be putting on a charity tombola, with all proceeds going to the Booth Centre – a community centre that works to help homeless people in Manchester, offering advice, activities and support to those in vulnerable positions.
All of this, for just £1 entry. Find out more information on workshops and exhibitions here.
