As if Manchester’s food and drink culture couldn’t get any richer, the city is about to welcome a stunning new addition, with 10 Tib Lane preparing to open its doors this Thursday (29 July) – a thrilling collaboration between the founders of Henry C and CBRB with classically French trained chef and former MFDF chef of the year, Alex Shaw (Volta, The Hinchcliffe).
Settling into a three-storey Victorian townhouse, just round the corner of Albert Square, 10 Tib Lane on the labyrinthine Bock Biere and Lounge 10 site, brings a refreshing outlook on hospitality. Their no-nonsense attitude to food and drink is even more appealing than the gorgeous interior, with the menu focusing closely on the art of divine flavour, and using only the freshest produce they can get their hands on.
Guests can look forward to French-inspired small plates, with a contemporary touch and a Mancunian flare, as well as an on-point drinks menu. Highlights include their Iberica Pork with sweet Italian red onions, sage and black garlic – a coconut Ricotta accompanied by courgette flowers, broad bean puree and Espelette peppers, and freshly caught oysters served with Chipolata de Campagne. Some Ingredients are sourced from Cinderwood Market Farm who supply directly to world-class restaurants such as Mana; vegetable are sold before being picked in a new, hyper-fresh model of restaurant supply.
For the boozier bunch, take your pick from ‘The Green Hour’ – made with British strawberry Oleo, Absolut vodka, Lillet rosé, Pernod absinthe, lemon, sugar and foam – the ‘Lost in Tokyo’ – a short mix of 12-year-old Red Breast Whiskey, lemon and Japanese yuzu sake – and our favourite: the ‘Matador’ – Del Maguey Vida San Mezcal, lime, pressed pineapple, fermented ginger, agave and salt.
10 Tib Lane will be taking over the former Bock Biere site on Tib Lane, opening to the public this Thursday at 4pm. Table bookings are now available.
