Vegans of Manchester get ready, because Meatless Farm’s meat-free barbecue drive-thru is coming to Manchester.
The site is set to be popping up near the Trafford Centre, taking over Secret City – Event City’s drive in cinema – for a whole three days.
From Monday 9 to Wednesday 11 August, guests can get their BBQ fix without the guilty conscience, as Meatless Farm will be serving up hotdogs, loaded fries, their take on a McDonald’s McMuffins and mammoth-sized burgers, finished off with handmade aubergine ‘bacon’.
As well as delicious scran and sides, the takeover will also include three days of DJ sets, meaning you can even have a little boogie as you tuck into your BBQ bangers.
What’s more: anyone travelling through the drive-thru “emissions free” – in other words, by foot, bicycle, scooter, skateboard or electric car – will earn themselves 50% off their order, just for being kind to the planet.
Meatless Farm was founded in 2016 by Morten Toft Bech, a Danish entrepreneur who felt great concern for the future of the planet and the health of his family. Unfortunately, back then, vegan meat substitutes weren’t very good at all. So Morten decided to create his own, specialising in realistic textures and taste. Since then, Meatless Farm has expanded globally, and has even earned a spot on the Wetherspoons menu.
Based in Leeds, and with an ever-growing vegan fanbase up North, a Meatless Farm pop-up spot in Manchester is a no-brainer. The plant-based brand hopes that the drive-thru will encourage the people of Manchester to consider other options when craving barbecued food, by showing them just how good meat-free can be.
