If you haven’t made it up to the Fringe this August, fear not as the best comedians in the country are on their way to Manchester for some absolutely belting comedy nights this week featuring Ahir Shah, Fern Brady, Simon Lomas and loads more.
After a comedy night at Victoria Baths, why not one in a brewery, it’s more than set up for a piss up and with this lineup there’ll no doubt be pissing of sides too. After multiple appearances on The Mash Report, Have I Got News For You and Mock the Week, Ahir Shah is fast becoming one of the country’s finest satirists. He’ll be joined by Canadian comic Allyson June Smith, Edinburgh’s Rachel Jackson and the cheeky but geographically difficult to place tones of Phil Chapman.
To keep the good brewery vibes going, the next evening you can pop along to Marble Brewery for al fresco Bank Holiday charity party with Punk in Drublic. The night is split into comedy and poetry with the stand-up section featuring the city’s finest up and comers in Adam Elmi, Tegan Marlow, Michael Mannion and Simon Lomas with proceeds going to Mustard Tree. A feel good evening you can feel good about.

It’s the sign of a good show when if you were only seeing one of the comedians it’d be worth the price of a ticket alone. But with new midweek comedy night Bath Bombs’ opening gambit you’re getting a real embarrassment of riches with Seann Walsh, Fern Brady and Felicity Ward all appearing on the lineup. Which is frankly staggering. All held together by award-winning comic James Meehan this is one you must get tickets for if you can.
