Keep an eye out for the next Danny Boyle at this Sunday’s Fuse Film Festival at Manchester University’s Student Union. Birthed from last year’s inaugural Greater Manchester Film Festival, Fuse is looking to celebrate the next generation of film-makers from Manchester and beyond. 25 shorts will be shown over the course of the day, split into four categories: ‘Student Shorts’; ‘Student Documentaries’; ‘Short Films’; and ‘Short Documentaries’. Choosing from just under 100 submissions for the festival, from student and professionals both UK based and international, Fuse hopes to highlight the next big things in cinema. To help inspire these budding writers and directors, the festival will also be screening the Bafta Shorts 2013, which includes work from Lynne Ramsay (Morvern Callar, We Need To Talk About Kevin). Cheaper early bird tickets have already sold out so make sure you book before it’s too late.
