Bookshop Day is coming – here’s happening this weekend

Saturday 9 October is bookshop day, which has been encouraging us all to shop in our local bookshops, not just on this one day but all the time, since 2016. Booksellers, publishers, authors, illustrators and poets work collaboratively on the campaign to help ensure that all of our high streets are thriving, not just surviving. Participating retailers include Waterstones, Foyles, WHSmith, Blackwell’s and numerous independent bookshops (pictured here is Bopcap Books in Levenshulme). Basically, if it’s a shop that sells books, the chances are it’s on board.
