A full day of frivolities and live entertainment will take place across the city centre this weekend, as Manchester celebrates The First Day of Christmas.
More than 50 performers are set to line the city’s streets on Sat 13 Nov, including Stilt-Walking Reindeers, Ice Queens and Living Lampposts.
Meet beautiful Scandanavian puppet Aurora and her Arctic Fox in an unmissable roaming performance, or be transported to Narnia at The Royal Exchange.
There’ll also be a life-size Snow Globe Queen entertaining crowds in St Ann’s Square, and be ready to waddle your way through the city centre with The Penguin Family and Crumpet the Elf as they try to find their way back to the North Pole.
A seasonal soundtrack will be provided by the Bloco Brass Band and as evening falls SPARK! will dazzle with a one-of-a-kind light-up Christmas Music Show.
Events will be taking place across various city centre locations, including: Exchange Square, Market Street, St Ann’s Square King Street, Cross Street and Deansgate.
The festivities kick off at 12pm, and will run through into the evening at 7pm.
Manchester’s First Day of Christmas will take place a day after the opening of the Christmas Markets, which take over Piccadilly Gardens as their main hub for the first time this year on Fri 12 Nov.
