Bargain baubles & festive delights: Emmaus Mossley launches second-hand charity Christmas sale

Looking to make your Christmas shopping a little more ethical and sustainable this year? Look no further because homelessness charity, Emmaus Mossley, has just launched its annual Christmas sale of second-hand decorations, trees, gifts and stocking fillers.

All about encouraging supporters to shop pre-loved this Christmas, the organisation has also joined up with the Charity Retail Association’s #GoodCauseSantaClaus campaign in an effort to promote slow consumption and encourage more people to shop sustainably.

The campaign calls on the public to show some Christmas spirit and get involved in pledging to buy decorations and gifts from charity shops, and to spread the word about the wonders of pre-loved.

Offering a great way to save some coins, stumble upon unusual gifts, all whilst doing your bit in helping out the local community and environment—the Emmaus Mossley Secondhand Superstore will be transformed into an emporium of secret Santa gifts, reusable Christmas trees, lighting fit for a Winter Wonderland, bargain baubles and a whole lot more.

One of the community members at Emmaus Mossley, Gary Barton, said: “We’ve spent time saving up festive items, organising them and creating different displays within our charity store. There’s plenty of choice to suit all tastes and we hope that our customers enjoy the experience and find some items they love.”

Director of Emmaus Mossley, Alison Hill, has also said: “Our annual Christmas sale is an opportunity for our supporters to bag some festive bargains, find interesting gifts and shop responsibly. Thanks to the kindness of people who donate to Emmaus Mossley, we’ve got a fabulous mix of items available, and more stock will be added over the next few weeks.”

As we approach December, Emmaus Mossley is still appealing for all of your lovely donations of good quality decorations, unused presents and other festive items to sell in their Secondhand Superstore, where all money raised will go straight back into helping support the charity’s vital work.

Emmaus Mossley currently supports 26 formerly homeless people through active measures such as providing them with a home, work and reintroducing them into the community setting.
