Local charity, Greater Manchester Youth Network (GMYN) is a brilliant organisation dedicated to making the transition from childhood into adulthood a little less daunting.

Backed by the slogan ‘Young people can’, the group organises community-led initiatives, recruitment opportunities, professional skills workshops and other useful measures to aid the city’s youth.

In an effort to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, GMYN is putting on a Care Leavers’ festive Craft Fayre. The event forms part of their social action project to involve young people in their local area through community engagement, charitable endeavours and an emphasis on creativity.

All the creations made by the young people are up for grabs at the Craft Fayre, and while none are priced, donations towards Cancer Research UK are encouraged.

A lovely mid-week event to get you in the Christmas spirit, head over to the Greenfish Resource Centre where you’ll be able to browse the creative work of Manchester’s future generations, and enjoy the complimentary refreshments.

Whether you pick up a handmade bauble to jazz up your Christmas tree or just go for a peruse around the fayre and pop a couple of quid in the donation box—this is a great opportunity to shop sustainably, support two admirable charities and get actively involved in the local community.

Head down and try your own hand at crafting, bag some handmade bargains, raise some money for a great cause and see for yourself the amazing work being done at the Greater Manchester Youth Network this Christmas.

The Craft Fayre will be open from 3.30pm and run until 6:30pm on Wed 15 December.
