Subbuteo Skills School at National Football Museum

It’s often said how much easier it is to be a child these days, with their iPhones, broadband internet and the 24/7 children’s TV channels to fulfill their every whim. One of the major differences between generations that is often missed, however, is the existential angst that an 8 year old of times gone by had when they couldn’t quite find a table big enough to house their brand new Subbuteo set – especially given that they’re more likely to be worrying about the amount of scratches on their copy of the latest FIFA game. For those at a loss as to how to fill up this latest half term, the National Football Museum is offering an elegant solution with this series of Subbuteo Skills Schools – giving you a chance to find closure over years of broken plastic figurines and broken plastic balls, whilst also offering the children a glimpse into the brilliantly bizarre pastimes we thought up before every home had an XBOX. There are 5 sessions a day, so no excuses.
