Reading from her two critically-acclaimed works Her Lost Language and Map of a Plantation, Jenny will also challenge the history of literary discourse in her latest project by re-telling the story of Jane Eyre from the perspective of a free woman of colour in the 19th century.
The second free film screening of the week, Touch of Pink, is sure to get you feeling nostalgic. The iconic rom-com will be followed by an exclusive Q&A with director and screenwriter Ian Iqbal Rashid, Dr Alberto Fernandez-Carbajal and Dr Sarah Ilott.
Focussing on the genre within South Asian diasporic, Muslim and LGBT+ contexts alongside the intersecting issues of race, migration, sexuality, gender and faith, this will be like a screening you’ve never experienced before.
