Northern alt-pop duo LASS headline The Castle Hotel this Thu 30 June from 7:30pm. Formed of sisters Joy and Grace Moore, the pair infuse their lush harmonies with a good bit of Northern grit – embodying 21st century womanhood in their lyrics. Liverpudlian solo act Tilly Louise will play Sackville Street’s Retro this Thu 30 June. Influenced by the likes of Paramore, HAIM, Jade Bird, The Aces and Orla Gartland – the alternative pop artist will be joined on the bill by special guests Mandelbro and More In Luv. Tickets are just 9 quid. Doors from 7:30pm.
Another Sounds of the City date this Fri 1 July as The Libertines hit the Castlefield Bowl stage. The band, fronted by Carl Barât and Pete Doherty, ruled the indie scene in the early 00s and will no doubt play plenty of old fan favourites. Support comes from fellow London act Sports Team. Abattoir Blues Records present a night of glam, garage and punk this Fri 1 July at The Peer Hat with Manchester’s very own Furrowed Brow, Slack Alices and Death Vignettes. Evil Hoof Picnic is back for 2022. The all-day event, this Sat 2 July at Gullivers NQ, celebrates the genre and sub-genres of punk. Presented by Horn & Hoof Records and Evil Music Live – the line-up includes Harijan, The Crash Mats, Janus Stark, Panda Lasagne, Mark Murphy and The Meds, Shackleford, Sally Pepper, ‘Till I’m Bones and more! Sounds of the City returns to Castlefield Bowl this week and on Tue 28 June, it will be Scotland’s answer to Beyonce taking the stage at the unique venue.
