If you’ve not yet been, get yourself over to Chorlton’s favourite indie cafe, Tea Hive, for a cracking musical workshop led by a Camerata composer and musician exploring the theme Letters to a Loved One.
A collaboration between Manchester Camerata and Death Cafe Chorlton, the musical workshops will explore the subject to form an original piece.
With no previous musical knowledge required to join, use the opportunity to explore a new creative avenue, show off your hidden talents and indulge in some of Tea Hive’s homemade bakes.
Catch this one before it’s gone! It’s your final chance to see The Modernist’s superb Out of Date exhibition and check out the subsequent launch of a photo book containing some of the images featured in the exhibition.
The exhibition is compromised of the work from 22 photographers from the UK and Europe who dutifully accepted the brief to capture modernist buildings and scenes using a cache of old slide films from the 1970s.
Capturing the likes of Gateway House and other Mancunian modernist landmarks, be sure to see for yourself the unique, experimentalist exhibition.
If you’ve not yet been away and fancy a quick trip, look no further. The beautiful Alliance Française de Manchester are putting on an inside screening of the amazing French classic film, L’homme de Rio (1964).
Directed by Philippe de Broca, the adventure plot follows French military man, Adrien Dufourquet, whose wife has been kidnapped. He follows her and her captors throughout South America to Brazil and stumbles upon an important realisation…
Launching this Saturday, be sure to check out Manchester Cathedral’s latest photography exhibition, Home, by the charity People Of The Streets.
Working alongside people who have experienced homelessness to deliver photography lessons, People Of The Streets encouraged participants to take photos to represent what home means to them.
Running until 17 July, be sure to head over to the launch to meet the photographers, see some great work and support such an admirable cause.

Nestled in the heart of the Northern Quarter, start your week off with some great art via Leslie Thompson’s second solo exhibition show In The Making Since a Hundred of Years.
Born out of a lockdown exploration into the history of black comic book superheroes from the years 1935 all the way through to 2020, Leslie’s work is a testament to the power of memory and imagination as he radically reinterprets the characters he researched during the pandemic.
