Salaam Festival takes over the spectacular setting of the Albert Hall this Sunday, and we’ve got a pair of tickets to give away to help you get involved with the celebrations.

The daytime sees a world premiere from Muhammad Iqbal, a South Asian Muslim writer, philosopher, and politician, whose poetry in the Urdu language is considered among the greatest of the twentieth century.

Specially for the festival, comes a new vision and interpretation of one of Iqbal’s most famous and controversial poems, Shikwa (Complaint). This newly imagined musical work will be written and composed by Rushil Ranjan and performed by Manchester Camerata featuring Abi Sampa as vocalist.

Later on in the day, Arooj Aftab, the first-ever Grammy Award-winning Pakistani artist, creates a wildly unique blend of ambient and new jazz, built around repeating patterns inspired by Sufi music and Urdu poetry. Named both one of NPR’s 100 young composers and one of Time Magazine’s top songs of 2021, this is one not to be missed.

All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is fill in the form below.
