Cult art-rock veterans The Blue Aeroplanes bring their impressive back catalogue to Manchester as they head up The Deaf Institute on Tuesday 18 June as part of a five-date UK tour. With a career spanning back to 1984, the Bristol band (pictured in 1984) have more than proved their longevity, with ten full-length albums to date, including their highest charting, Beatsongs. The tour falls in celebration of the 20th anniversary of this acclaimed album, which was released as a deluxe edition earlier this year, featuring the best of their eclectic mix of jangular folk-rock, pop and poetry. Support comes from Patrick Duff, former frontman of Strangelove, who will open the evening with his rich, open-hearted sound.
