Otherworldly dream pop, Arabic folk-indie rock blends, our latest guide to Manchester’s Albert Hall gig calendar features names as eclectic as they are impressive.
Here’s what’s coming up…
After delivering a stellar support performance at Burna Boy’s Manchester Arena gig back in March, Nigerian singer-songwriter Adekunle Gold’s Catch Me If You Can tour stops at the Albert Hall for what’ll no doubt be a memorable Friday night at the venue.
Six albums in and Angel Olsen has more than earned the widespread acclaim she’s garnered across the globe. Sitting somewhere between dark dream pop and folk, the chance to catch her on a Friday night in Manchester is simply too good to be missed.
With the imminent release of their much-anticipated second album, Gigi’s Recovery, The Murder Capital will quickly follow that up with a UK tour in February. Given their last run of dates were mostly met with sold-out crowds, along with their biggest sell-out show to date at London’s Electric Ballroom, we imagine tickets won’t be hanging around for too long.
Tamino brings a wildly unique blend of Arabic folk, experimental indie rock and orchestral arrangements to town, via the fascinatingly brilliant record Sahar. The album features some impressive collaborations, including Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood.
