From global superstars to sort of homecoming shows this week’s comedy picks features an eclectic mix of comedy talents.

Weird Al Yankovic at O2 Apollo | Mon 13 Feb | 7pm | £37-£44.05

The King of the parody song and recent subject of a biopic starring Daniel Radcliffe, Weird Al Yankovic is coming to Manchester. A regular favourite on the likes of Comedy Bang Bang, Weird Al is a force of nature and this latest show on his ‘The Unfortunate Return of the Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour’ will see his band playing deep cuts and fan-favourite originals rather than his classic parodies with support act Emo Phillips. A stellar night.

Will Duggan and Milo Edwards at XS Malarkey | Tue 14 Feb | 7.30pm | £3/6

The first of three XS Malarkey shows this week, and the first of two chosen for these here picks (sorry Tony Law!), this double header is a cracking two-for-one in lieu of XS’s usual Tuesday night lineup. Will Duggan (who cut his comedy teeth on the Manchester circuit) returns with his new show ‘Iceberg’ and host of popular podcast TrashFuture Milo Edwards presents ‘Voicemail’. All lovingly bookended by some Toby Hadoke magic to keep it XS.

Alison Spittle: Wet | Sun 19 Feb | 7.30pm | £9/10

One of our absolute favourite comedians and fresh off the back of a complete sell out run at The Edinburgh Fringe and voted one of the best reviewed comedy shows, Alison Spittle is diving into her first UK tour. Her latest show ‘Wet’ is an ode to ‘fights in a chip shop’ and looking at the underlying reasons someone who is outwardly nice lives for confrontation. Will she like what she finds? You certainly will. Alison is consistently hilarious no matter what she’s talking about.
