To mark International Women’s Day, Great Northern Warehouse have teamed up with art event specialists Cotton On MCR for an open call, pop-up exhibition for female artists in Greater Manchester.

Cotton On Mcr have invited all female-identifying artists to submit work, for free, with selected pieces to be displayed, and sold, within the Great Northern Warehouse Village Hall.

The exhibition will be open across the weekend of Fri 10 Mar – Sat 12 Mar, with a private launch taking place on Friday (free ticketed event) and artists talks on Saturday (£8 per ticket). Aside from the artists talks, entry is free and unticketed for the rest of Saturday and Sunday.

Domino Panton-Oakley, Founder of Cotton On MCR said: “Women artists are massively under-represented in the art world, male artists dominate gallery walls and their artwork sells for a higher price than female artist’s work.

“So for International Women’s Day, we decided to use our platform and celebrate our local, female-identifying artists. We will be showing a huge mix of artwork, from a variety of art forms and from artists of all different backgrounds. This exhibition will really show off the talent our female artists have!”
