An eclectic bill at XS Malarkey, a couple of previews from rising stars Dan Tiernan and Hannah Platt, and a tour show from an old pro in Bethany Black make up a solid week of comedy in Manchester.
Two of Manchester’s most exciting up and coming comedians trot out their debut shows for this special evening at the old Runaway Brewery site on Dantzic Street. Platt has been referred to as ‘the voice of a new generation’ by The Skinny whereas Dan Tiernan had a wildly successful 2022 winning both BBC New Comedian of the Year and British Comedian of the Year. A must see for Manchester comedy fans seeing two such future stars in intimate surrounds.
Award-winning comedian Bethany Black brings her latest tour show ‘Always Bet On Beth’ to Manchester for XS Malarkey’s second show of the week. A queer story of rural living, conspiracies, an unfortunate medical condition and PC building Black recounts the tale of moving closer to her hometown whilst getting used to countryside living in the modern age. A masterful storyteller and joke writer who’s twists and turns will always keep you guessing where the punchline is coming from, Black is a real treat and a great excuse to start your weekend early.

As part of the WeGotTickets Independent Comedy Festival XS Malarkey bring a packed lineup of well weathered pros and exciting up and comers. Of the former you’ll be treated to the musings of Australian funnyman Thomas Green and The Learner Parent himself Sam Avery. A duo you’d be pleased to see on any weekend comedy bill, never mind one for just over a fiver on a Tuesday night.
