A magical dance retelling of Kipling’s classic tale, Jungle Book, arrives at The Lowry this weekend.

Reimagined by the widely acclaimed Akram Khan company, the story is set in a near future world, centred on a family that has been torn apart as they escape their homeland which has been ravaged by the impact of climate change.

Separated from her family and alone in a deserted city in which wild animals have claimed the streets as their own, a child forms unlikely allies in this strange, alternative new jungle.

Featuring stunning state-of-the-art animation and visuals, an original score and ten international dancers, Jungle Book Reimagined reinvents the beloved tale of Mowgli through the timely lens of connecting and respecting our natural world.

Over the last two decades, Akram Khan Company has built a reputation as one of the foremost innovative dance companies in the world, and audiences can expect a visual spectacle when this latest production arrives in Salford.

Jungle Book Reimagined comes to The Lowry on Sat 13 May. Tickets are on sale now and you can book yours using the button below.
