Returning to the Albert Hall stage with a woozier, creamier sound than his previous projects, Angus Stone embraces slick summery grooves under a new pseudonym, Dope Lemon, on Tue 13 Jun.
Originally established as part of indie pop sibling duo Angus and Julia Stone, the transient innovator brings bright, dreamy vocal performances and throwback romantic imagery with songs like Lovesick Brain, Stingray Pete and High Rollin’ from his latest album, Rose Pink Cadillac.
Performing in Manchester on the first stop of his six-city UK tour, with extra dates added due to high demand, Dope Lemon oscillates from hazy, toked-up romance to urgent floorfillers across his new record, which has been described as ‘a perfect album for chilling out with the one you love and dreaming about hot summery days spent relaxing in the sunshine… with nothing particularly important trying to muscle in on your attention’.
