Rachel Goodyear: Artificial Night at The International 3

Local artist Rachel Goodyear returns to The International 3 for her third solo exhibition to present a haunting parallel reality entitled Artificial Night. Venturing into newer materials and mediums, the exhibition reveals Goodyear’s development as an artist as she showcases exploratory works, including the exhibition’s centrepiece: a two-metre-long collage drawing representing a theatrical scene of dance, deception, death and rebirth. Other works include a flock of porcelain birds sprouting bronze growths, wolves drooling ectoplasm and a little boy with a ghost on a leash, creating a precisely dark portrayal of a curious, otherworldly display against the bare walls of The International 3.
